Betta Mansions- Gift for Gab

As far as gifts go I think my family knows (some at least) that I have a strong link to the sea that has been a major factor in my life. This gift was not only creative it may be one of the most unique center pieces that I have seen. Offered by " Betta Mansions" of Tacoma WA. it is one of several creations that my sister was kind enough to recently gift me with. The really interesting thing is that this fish was mailed and spent every bit of a week in a box and lived!! When I received "Marine" he or her (I have not lifted a fin to check yet) had only 1/2" of water left. The post office must have been going nuts!!

On a sadder note the hamster she sent dyed green for St. Patrick's day did not make it. Yik!.

Enjoy the pictures and remember to click on them to blow them up!

Thank you all.

Old & Crabby?

I don't know how to take being gifted with crabs. Naturally the type of crab should be questioned. The integrity of the giver as well as the recipient may also come to bear.

In the end, if you find yourself in my position, you would have received a very large box of Dungeness crabs that are jet fresh from our friends on the west coast. They even included the cocktail sauce which I did not use because the crab itself was so unbelievably Delicious! A feast for a king for sure.

So if this is to tell me that I am crabby, so be it! I can keep it up if you can send the crabs!! Thank you!!

Liberty Motor Lang 400 hp.

I have been on a quest for some time regarding the exact aircraft that the Liberty Motor Lang 400 hp. mahogany propeller may have come from. It hangs now in my home high amongst the the beams of our play room. I have been in contact with people from the Smithsonian Institute as well as the Pensacola Museum of Naval Aviation and I have not yet determined the origin. Both parties smugly suggested that it was from one aircraft of another but they were put in their places when I proved to them that it was likely the rear drive propeller from a Curtiss navy NC4 flying boat. This is one of the first aircraft equipped with the Liberty (named after the birth of our country) v12 400 hp. engine. Also the first liquid cooled aircraft motor. Any information that you have would be appreciated.

Road show

East coast Mike will be going on the Antique Road Show. Airplanes anyone?

FOR BETTER OR WORSE

Interesting concept. Better- the time we had while romancing the novel idea that one day we may spend time together and start a family. We will be this or that. Our children will be great people, people that we create and govern in our image to change the world. Anyone remember the notion of this?
Worse- the realization that the world we are in is not cooperating with our ideas and intentions. Our losing grip with the most important thing we have, togetherness. No mater what, in most cases, you can't pick your family as the saying goes. When it get tough we we either stay close or retreat to a neutral corner of ourselves or the at least the person that we have become. It's difficult to assume that we may ever be able to reconcile the differences between loved ones turned away but the maintenance of such relationships proves to be our salvation in the end. The day will come that you look that person in the face and discover that you have lived through the worse and you then find the better.
